Unleash your creative spirit and get a magical start to Rhinebeck Weekend by joining bestselling and award-winning authors Arin Murphy Hiscock and Devin Hunter for the 2025 Omega Fiber Spirit Retreat! Attendees will enjoy three days of friendship, artistry, and skill development centered on expressing their unique connection to spirit through fiber artistry. Ideal for knitters, crocheters, weavers and spinners of all levels, attendees can expect a swag bag full of all necessary supplies, exclusive patterns, and five meaningful workshops that will help them expand in all areas of their fiber practice. In addition to a weaving ritual, individual workshops focus on topics such as colorwork and correspondences, intentional trance stitching and spinning, fiber artistry and sustainability, and deepening our relationships with spirit through our projects. The retreat concludes just in time for the 2025 New York Sheep and Wool Festival and is the perfect way to charge your batteries before the big weekend!
Our 2025 ScheduleÂ
Monday – Setting Intention
9am-12noon – Intentional Trance Knitting and CrochetÂ
Who doesn’t love a good mindless knit or crochet piece? In this workshop we will discuss how to turn mindless projects into intentional and meaningful ones that incorporate spiritual techniques! Learn breathwork, chants, stitch patterns, and simple yogic exercises for unlocking creative channels and exploring the creative power of mindfulness and flow.Â

9am-12noon – Color(work) and Correspondences
In this workshop we will explore the concept of color as a tool for expressing spiritual meaning as well as the rich history of color in spiritual textiles from around the world. We will take a look at contemporary fiber art designers and patterns that use color to convey the spiritual and metaphysical and Devin will reveal the 2025 Omega Shawl patterns (both knit and crochet versions) for this year’s event. Attendees will receive a construction tutorial for both versions and will begin the first part of the shawl there in class.Â
All necessary supplies for the shawl can be found in your Rhinebeck Fiber Spirit Retreat swag bag, including the special 2025 Omega Shawl Exclusive colourway. Attendees are welcome to use their own yarn for the project.

Tuesday - Wisdom
9am-12noon – Sheep to Shawl – Fiber Artistry and SustainabilityÂ
In this workshop we will explore the processes of making natural and manmade fibers, learn the differences between them, and how to determine which fiber and fiber blends are best for your projects. We will discuss the environmental impact of the textile industry, share resources for sustainable buying, and show you what to look for when shopping so you can make the most informed decisions. This workshop will conclude with a meditation on connecting to the spiritual energy in various fibers.
Attendees are invited to work on their Omega Shawl project during this workshop and will find a selection of mini skeins in their Rhinebeck Fiber Spirit Retreat swag bag!
2:30pm-5pm – Handspun Spirit
In this workshop we will discuss various spinning techniques and take a deep dive into the ancient art of drop-spinning! Learn everything you need to know to spin your own yarn at any weight and what fibers work best for your special projects. Attendees will be invited to play with different types of roving, will receive one-on-one instruction, and the workshop will conclude with a special guided meditation that works with your new drop spindle as a spiritual tool!

Weds – Mindfulness
9am-12noon – Yoga for Makers
In this workshop we will explore the intersection of the physical body, vital energies, and creativity as we learn best practices for wrist, arm, neck, and back health. Attendees will learn how to properly stretch to increase fine motor skills, learn to activate their energy body as well as to move vital energies through their hands during the process of making.

2:30pm-5pm - Intentional Making
In this workshop we will combine and elaborate on the topics we have discussed during the first half of our retreat and develop a crafting methodology that places our creative spiritual efforts at the center of our practice in a meaningful way. Attendees will discover methods for planning and constructing their works that incorporate intention, color, timing, and fiber to manifest powerful art in the world.

Thursday – Manifestation
9am-12noon – Weaving Reality - Manifestation Ritual (Hand loom)
This workshop and simple ritual are devoted to the art of weaving as a tool for manifestation. We will delve into the history and artistry of weaving and then weave our own manifestation square during a guided meditation and visualization ritual.Â

2:30pm-5pm - Textile Talismans
This workshop is devoted to the art of creating textile talismans using your preferred crafting method; crochet, knitting, or weaving. Textile talismans are small makes that are created intentionally to bring good vibes to those we make them for.

9am-12noon - Fiber Spirit Ritual
